I’ve been hard at work fleshing out some areas of the website that previously had little or no content since the big move. I have also been creating new galleries and stocking them as I work towards getting things back to how they were pre-move. More to come but for now be sure to check out the Gallery as well as the new Places list! I have also updated the Equipment page with “what’s in Jeremy’s backpack?” for the gear-curious. You know who you are.
From my recent trip out to Western Nebraska to photograph Sandhill Cranes on their migration path through the state. Everything has its own behaviors and things they do that seem strange to us. Sandhill Cranes? They dance. The dance of the Sandhill Crane has a fairly extensive meaning as the birds communicate numerous things this way from mating to rivalry. There is a great field guide out that explains most of this if you’re interested in learning more.
Today I have for you a double dose of Chicago! Both photos were taken at night from the Chicago River boat tour in downtown Chicago. There are many technical difficulties in shooting an image from a moving boat even under good conditions. Add in darkness and it becomes very tricky to get a steady shot!
In part one of my article we covered several Arkansas waterfalls including Paige Falls and Broadwater Hollow Falls. Let’s wrap this up today with Sweden Creek Falls, Hammerschmidt Falls, Lichen Falls, and The Glory Hole Waterfall.
Last flower photo for the week I promise! Taken with a Nikon D3s + Zeiss Makro-Planar T* 2/50 ZF.2 @ f/2.
